About SEO Logbook
We started this practice because we were tired of agencies that treat reporting as a sales tool rather than an accountability mechanism.
Founded on a documentation principle
SEO Logbook was founded in Laurel, Maryland in 2017. Before that, our founders spent years inside digital agencies watching clients get sold on vague strategy documents and beautiful reports that obscured more than they revealed.
The logbook concept came from a simple frustration: if you ask most agencies what they did last month and why, the answer is usually a presentation. We believed clients deserved a written record, not a performance.
We built our process around documentation. Every client engagement has a logbook. It starts on day one and gets updated every single week. It includes what we found, what we changed, what we tested, and what happened. When an engagement ends, clients take their logbook with them.
What guides every engagement
Documentation as accountability
We write down what we do and why. Not just for you, but for us. It keeps us honest.
Strategy before tactics
We build strategy from your data, not from a template we apply to everyone.
You own everything
Every deliverable, every document, every account. Nothing is locked inside our systems.
We say no to bad fits
If your timeline, budget, or expectations do not match what SEO can realistically deliver, we tell you.
The logbook in practice
Every client has a logbook that starts on day one. Here is what goes into it.
Every work session is logged with what was done, what was found, and what was decided.
Weekly position snapshots for all tracked keywords, preserved in full for the life of the engagement.
Every technical change: what was changed, when, why, and what the expected outcome was.
Traffic changes, ranking improvements, and lead volume are logged against the work that produced them.
